About Dr. Majinah Ahmad

Dr. Majinah commenced her practice at KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist effective Jan 1996. She obtained her BDS (Malaya) in 1979, MDSc (Leeds, UK ) in 1981, PhD (London) in 1988 and FICD (USA) in 1990

Education and Fellowship:

Dr. Majinah was attached to  University of Malaya as a  lecturer, in the department of Conservative Dentistry from 1981  to 1989 and Associate Professor from 1989 to 1996. She was awarded the Best Lecturer Award in  1992, Faculty of Dentistry from University of Malaya and awarded Fellow of the International College of Dentists in Aug 1990.

Specialty Interests:

She had undergone postgraduate  training at  the University of Leeds , UK,   in Restorative Dentistry and received her MDSc.   She received her postgraduate training in Endodontics at Guys Hospital , Kings College, University of London , UK  from where she obtained  her PhD.

Research and Publications:

Dr Majinah Ahmad has published numerous research papers and abstracts, authored and co-authored two endodontic books in Bahasa Malaysia, numerous research reports, contributed to a compilation of Malay-English dictionary for dental terminology, produced lectures on tapes and videos both locally and abroad and given radio talk show related to endodontics. Her areas of interest being 'Phenomena of Cavitation and Acoustic Streaming in Ultrasonic Root Canal Treatment' and 'Çlinical Endodontics'. Moreover, she has been invited to lecture and conduct workshops quite extensively both locally and abroad.

Professional Memberships:




In 1988, Dr Majinah Ahmad founded the Malaysian Endodontic Society. Through her untiring and selfless efforts, the Malaysian Endodontic Society has achieved a notable reputation not only within the country but also in the Asean region.

While serving as the President of the society for five years, Dr Majinah also served as Honorary  Secretary of the Asian Pacific Endodontic Confederation for two terms from 1989-1991 and 1991-1993. This further put Malaysia on the Endodontic map in the Asian Pacific region.

She is also an active member of the American Association of Endodontists.

She has also served on the editorial board of the International Endodontics Journal, Blackwell Scientific Publications , Oxford , England, 1990

She was also a member  of Scientific Advisory Board, International Endodontic Journal, Blackwell, Scientific Publications, Oxford,  England , 1986-1992  and held the post of the editor , of Malaysian Dental Journal in 1992

In  view of her contribution to Endodontics, she was awarded Honorary Member of the Malaysian Endodontic Society in 2009  and life membership of the Malaysian Dental Association in 2014
